Pilonidal Sinus

The pilonidal sinus is an abnormal opening in the skin of the buttocks. It affects the skin at the end of the coccyx, causing a tunnel-like defect. The hole may be asymptomatic or cause severe pain and discomfort if it becomes infected. The pilonidal sinus also collects debris, hair, and dust particles.
